Left Hanging. LITERALLY. On the morning of my move to New Jersey from the bronx, 3 movers showed up, 30 minutes late I would like to add, with a 16 foot box truck. Prior to their arrival, pictures of the major furniture were sent by request to their customer service representative for their assessment of the move. I agreed to pay $135 an hour for the 3 movers and left my deposit. Upon their 30 minute late arrival, the movers walked into apartment, looked at the furniture and said immediately they have to make multiple trips. Multiple trips to New Jersey from the Bronx ? Did they not assess the furniture before? Why did they only bring a 16 foot Box truck for a move? Then we were unprofessionally told that if we didn’t want to pay $135 per hour (inclusive of their multiple trips!), we would have to pay a $1600 flat rate and they would continue do the move, however long that would take of course. When those terms weren’t agreed too, the 3 movers got in the truck and drove away! We made several attempts to call their customer service number 718 412 8888. Good luck getting someone to answer that number. Just press #1 and be patient. When we finally got someone on the phone, they told us we didn’t clarify all the furniture that we had, even though pictures of everything that was going, were sent prior to the move. Upon asking to speak to a supervisor, we never got a clear answer, and it seemed like no one wanted to transfer an upset customer to a supervisor. Once again, we were given the same options, to either pay $135 per hour (inclusive of their multiple trips!) or pay a $1600 flat rate and they would continue do the move. How is it the customers fault that the truck they came with was not big enough for the move? We provided all the necessary information required for assessment prior to the move and they took it upon themselves to show up with a 16 foot box truck, as it appears to gain more money out of the move. When the terms that were agreed with upon payment of the deposit, were changed last minute on their part, we canceled the move all together and asked for a refund. They offered no other options. Not to mention, the movers had left us prior to us even gaining a representative on the phone. On the day of the move, with everything packed, this company is a mover’s WORST CHOICE. Please shop around.
